Voter Registration

Eligibility of Voters
A person is eligible to vote, if at the time of the election he/she is:

• A United States citizen.
• At least 18 years of age.
• A Minnesota resident for at least 20 days on election day.
• Properly registered.

At least 20 days before election day, you must do one of the following:

• Register in person at Plymouth City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Blvd.
• Complete a Minnesota Voter Registration Application (PDF).

In Minnesota, you may register to vote on election day at your polling place. To register at your polling place on election day, you must have one of the following authorized proofs of residence:

• Valid Minnesota driver's license, learner's permit or receipt of either with current address located in precinct.
• Valid Minnesota identification or receipt with current address located in precinct.
• A registered voter in the precinct who can vouch for you.
• Registration in the same precinct indicating a previous address.
• Mailed notice from the voter registration office indicating ineffective registration.
• Students can show their address in the precinct by using a current fee statement and an indentification card.
• A current utility bill, plus a photo identification.

You must re-register if:

• Your name or address changes.
• You have not voted in four years.
